“Botox treatment” in Winterthur

Botulinum toxin A is used for a reduction of wrinkles caused by distinct facial expressions. Deep wrinkles are often caused by stress and tension but also external influences such as UV damage or unhealthy habits (e.g. smoking or a diet lacking in vitamins). Due to decreased elasticity, the skin does not smooth out anymore but remains in folds.

How does the treatment work?

After applying a topical numbing cream, Dr. Rosenberg will inject botulinum into individual facial muscles. Thus, the transmission of stimuli from the nerve to the treated muscle is temporarily weakened and the muscle relaxes. The aim is to influence only a part of the facial muscles so that the face will not look mask-like and expressionless.

Which wrinkles can be smoothed?

“Botox” can effectively treat wrinkles caused by facial expressions. It is mainly used for wrinkles in the upper face such as forehead wrinkles, the glabella, bunny lines by the nose or crows’ feet.

How long does it last?

After treatment, the first effects are seen after 2-3 days. Visible wrinkle smoothing is observed after approximately 5 to 10 days. The maximum effect is reached after about 2 weeks. After about 12 weeks the body begins to develop new nerve endings. The overall effect of botulinum toxin lasts approximately 3 to 6 months depending on your facial expressions and body’s metabolism. Over time, wrinkling is reduced through regular treatments and the intervals can be extended.

What are the risks?

As a rule, wrinkle smoothing with botulinum toxin is well tolerated. Injection under the skin can cause local pain, minor swelling or bruising, which re-form after 2-3 days.[Akkordeon:]

More:

In rare cases, local infections and fatigue have been reported. In case of non-appropriate injection, excessive weakening of the target muscle or unwanted weakening of neighboring muscles can occur. For this reason, treatment should only be performed by an experienced physician. All undesirable effects are reversible. The probability of complications is also affected by your personal risk profile. Therefore, it is particularly important that you provide accurate information on existing medical conditions, allergies and medication, as well as previous operations. For more information on indications and side effects, see Documed Botox®, Documed Azzalure®, Documed Vistabel, Documed Bocouture, Documed Xeomin, Documed Dysport.
